Microneedling is a medical-grade skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve texture, tone, and overall skin quality by stimulating the body’s natural collagen and elastin production. Using a precision device with fine, sterile needles, controlled micro-injuries are created in the skin to activate the body’s repair response and encourage cellular renewal.
At Re-Form, microneedling is performed by experienced registered nurses with advanced training in medical aesthetics. Treatment depth and technique are customized to safely and effectively address concerns such as fine lines, acne scarring, uneven texture, and loss of firmness—delivering results that go beyond surface-level treatments.
Microneedling is an excellent choice for the treatment of acne scars. wrinkles, stretchmarks, and to promote youthful looking skin. Microneedling works by creating thousands of microchannels that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. This rejuvenates your skin from the inside out. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.
Microneedling can also be used with PRP or protein rich plasma for enhanced stimulation of the production of collagen and elastin in your body. At Re-form, we use the Selphyl system to generate PRFM a protein rich fibrin matrix to create a scaffold that serves to protect and preserve platelets. Your aesthetic nurse will draw your blood and spin it down in our centrifuge to separate the PRP.
Most patients tolerate microneedling well. A topical anesthetic is applied before the procedure to enhance comfort. Some temporary redness or mild sensitivity similar to a mild sunburn may occur but typically resolves within a few days.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries using fine needles which activate your skin’s natural healing response. This process increases collagen and elastin synthesis, encouraging tissue remodeling and improved surface smoothness.
Microneedling is generally safe when performed by trained medical professionals. It may not be appropriate for certain individuals. A consultation is required to determine candidacy and ensure safe, effective treatment.
Microneedling generally has minimal downtime. Most patients experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or sensitivity for 24–72 hours. Makeup can usually be resumed once initial sensitivity resolves, and strict sun protection is essential post-treatment.
Microneedling is indicated for improving the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, textural irregularities, enlarged pores, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone. By stimulating collagen and elastin, it enhances overall skin vitality and texture.
While individual goals vary, a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is often recommended to achieve optimal results. Your provider at Re-Form will recommend a tailored plan based on your skin concerns and response to initial sessions.
